So my friend Rebecca is always answering these meme things on her site… I always like reading them, never get around to doing any of them myself… but what the hell. Here we go.

1. When you looked at yourself in the mirror today, what was the first thing you thought?
I really need a hair cut.

2. Favorite planet?
Saturn, I guess.

3. Who is the 4th person on your missed call list on your cell phone?
My “missed” and “received” are on the same list… Fourth received, mom, fourth missed, my brother.

4. What is your favorite ring tone on your phone?
I haven’t gotten into the whole song-for-ringtone thing, b/c it costs money (doesn’t it?). So I use one of the prefab ones, which I think is called Saturday Night.

5. Do you “label” yourself?
As an editor, often mistaken for a writer. As a nomad. Somewhat shyly as a knitter.

6. What does your watch look like?
It has a stainless steel band that’s sort of bracelet like and a black face, the cover of which is now cracked in two places since I dropped it last week. But it still works!

7. What were you doing at midnight last night?
Drinking Philly Pale Ale at Rembrandt’s, a local bar, with my friend Alex.

8. What did your last text message you received on your cell say?
A long one from my roommate: “Bad news on chair. We couldnt take it apart cus of old screws. Im going 2 ask val where she got hers. Do u need anythg at trader joes?”

9. What’s a word that you say a lot?
Working. (As in, “I really should be working.”)

10. Last furry thing you touched?
My scarf. If we’re really talking animal fur… I seriously can’t remember. I’m allergic and avoid touching animals generally.

11. Favorite age you have been so far?
I have no idea. I guess 29 was pretty good.

12. Your worst enemy?
Depends what I’m trying to achieve.

13. What is your current desktop picture?
A picture I took of Plaza Dorrego in Buenos Aires. You know, for inspiration. But I’m getting tired of it.

14. What was the last thing you said to someone?
Not too bad.

15. If you had to choose between a million bucks or to be able to fly what would it be?
If I could keep the ability to fly permanently, and fly as fast as a plane, I’d choose that. Otherwise, the money.

16. Do you like someone?
Sure.

17. The last song you listened to?

18. What time of day were you born?
around 6:00 a.m. I think.

19. What’s your favorite number?
I really don’t have one.

20. Where did you live in 1987?
Flemington, NJ

21. Are you jealous of anyone?
People who are happy where they are and don’t feel antsy or ready to move on.

22. Is anyone jealous of you?
When I was planning my RTW trip ppl constantly told me they were jealous. And I suppose some ppl are jealous of the freelance life.

23. Where were you when 9/11 happened?
San Francisco. A frantic phone call got me out of bed around 6 a.m. and I was glued to the TV all morning. My boss told me not to come to work.

24. Do you consider yourself kind?
Yes.

25. If you had to get a tattoo, where would it be?
On my bicep, if I could commit to keeping my arms toned. Otherwise, probably ankle or hip

26. If you could be fluent in any other language, what would it be?
Spanish.

27. Would you move for the person you loved?
I have, twice. And even though neither worked out so well in the end, I’d probably do it again, especially since I’m likely to be the one with the more flexible work situation.

28. What’s your life motto?
Leap, and the net will appear. [never thought of it as my motto before, but I do really like that quote.]

29. What’s your favorite town/city?
I can’t name favorites. How about a top five? San Francisco, New York, Paris, Madrid, Buenos Aires

30. When was the last time you wrote a letter to someone on paper and mailed it?
About three weeks ago.

31. Can you change the oil on a car?
Nope.

32. Your first love: what is the last thing you heard about him/her?
Hard to determine who was really first… but to make it easy, I’ll pick the one from fourth grade—he’s married and living in Colorado.

33. How far back do you know about your ancestry?
A couple generations. Almost everyone’s Dutch on both sides.

34. The last time you dressed fancy, what did you wear and why did you dress fancy?
Probably valentine’s day 2005… wore black top, black skirt, and red strappy high heels

35. Have you been burned by love?
Of course.
